Doug HollbergMayor Doug Hollberg

Douglas S. Hollberg has been married for 29 years to the former Pamela Joy Parsons of Washington, GA. The Hollberg’s have two children and reside at 812 Maple Drive. They are members of First Baptist Church of Griffin. Doug Hollberg is a 1990 graduate of North Georgia College with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, a graduate of Leadership Georgia 2000 and an Eagle Scout. Doug served as Commission Chairman in 2008,2015, and 2018. Doug Hollberg and his family operate a small family business, Hollberg Properties. Doug is also employed by Rivers Insurance as an Independent Property and Casualty Insurance Agent since 2014.

Griffin-Spalding County Airport Authority Chairman of the Board

Randall (Randy) Peters received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Carson-Newman College and a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management from Pepperdine University. He received his Doctorate in Higher Education from the University of Georgia. After a full military career as an Army Signal Corps Officer, Randy served in various capacities with the National Science Center Inc., and with Augusta Technical Institute (now Augusta Technical College). On October 1, 2010, Dr. Peters became President of Southern Crescent Technical College, having served as President of Heart of Georgia Technical College in Dublin, GA, for over 11 years. Locally he has served on the Griffin Regional Education Support Activity (RESA) Board of Control; the Griffin-Spalding Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors as Treasurer, Vice Chair, and Chairman; The Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Griffin-Spalding United Way; the Board of Directors of Communities in Schools and the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce, both of Henry County. He was appointed to the Griffin-Spalding County Airport Authority in January of 2017, where he serves as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Authority and Chairman of the Marketing Committee. He has served as the interim president at both Middle Georgia Technical College and Ogeechee Technical College. He is a member of Pi Lambda Theta, the international education honor society, and Phi Kappa Phi, the education honor society at the University of Georgia. Randy is a certified Open Water Scuba Diving Instructor, a certified Pistol Instructor, and a certified personal coach, speaker and leadership trainer.

Steve WagesMr. Steve Wages
Griffin-Spalding County Airport Authority Vice Chairman

Steve Wages was raised in Griffin, Georgia where he graduated from Griffin High in 1984. After attending Georgia Tech and Georgia State, he graduated with a BA degree in Political Science, minoring in Computer Information Systems in 1989. Receiving a commission in the US Air Force upon graduation, he attended Undergraduate Pilot Training at Columbus, AFB, flying T-37 and T-38 aircraft and receiving his Air Force pilot wings and a FAA Commercial Pilot License with Multi Engine and instrument ratings. He then took an assignment to the Alaska Air National guard where he flew HH-60G Pavehawk helicopters in the 210TH Rescue Squadron, based out of Anchorage, AK.

Returning to Griffin in 1995, he continued his career in aviation by attending Clayton College and State University and obtaining his FAA Airframe and Powerplant license there. Since entering the civilian aviation field, he has spent time as a mechanic, part sales and management, computer software systems implementation, design and management for companies such as Gulfstream, Bell Helicopter and Zodiac Aerospace. Currently Steve is serving as the Director of Operations for the Army Aviation Heritage Foundation, a 501c(3) non-profit flying museum, based in Henry county.

Steve has been an active volunteer over the years in several organizations including Arnold Air Society, Civil Air Patrol and 4-H. He is currently very active with the Spalding County 4-H program as a certified adult volunteer along with his wife and two of their 3 children. Steve and his family are long time residents of Spalding county, living near the Birdie community.

Commissioner Truman Tinsley (City of Griffin)
Griffin-Spalding County Airport Authority Secretary / Treasurer

I have lived in Griffin for 30 years and have three children, all of whom graduated from the Griffin-Spalding County School System.

Truman L. Tinsley IV is a LTC in the US Army JAG Corps (married with 2 children). Kim Register is the Dean of Nursing at Southern Crescent Technical College (married with 2 children). Joey Tinsley is an Air Traffic Controller in Hampton (single and no children).

A widower, I was married to Ann Gibbs Tinsley for 38-½ years. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a BS in Professional Aeronautics. I received a graduate degree from Columbia Southern University – MBA with a minor in Human Resources. I retired from Delta Air Lines after 44 years, having worked in various stations/departments with an ever increasing level of responsibility — lastly as System Operations Manager – International Flight Control.

I have completed Griffin Citizens Government Academy, Citizens Police Academy, Citizens Fire Academy and, lastly, the Citizens Emergency Response Team (CERT). I served on the Spalding County Board of Equalization for two years as appointed by the Grand Jury. I work as a FAA Designated Aircraft Dispatch Examiner (DADE). I am an active member of First Baptist Griffin and a member of the “Brothers” Sunday School class. I am also a member of the Masonic Lodge, York Rite and Shrine. I consider myself a fiscal conservative and enthusiastically look forward to serving the Citizens of the 5th District and community with dignity, honor and respect.

Commissioner James Dutton (Spalding County)

Born and raised in Griffin Georgia, Commissioner Dutton is deeply invested in this community. After graduation from Griffin High School in 2000, Commissioner Dutton continued his education at Gordon State College where he had been joint enrolled since 1998. After graduating from Gordon, James continued his college career at Georgia State University in Atlanta where he later graduated summa cum laude with a degree in economics with concentrations in healthcare economics, public sector economics, and human resource economics and a minor in urban policy studies with a concentration therein in nonprofit leadership. While expected to continue on to study for a PhD in international economics, Commissioner Dutton instead choose to attend GSU College of Law attaining a Juris Doctorate. During this time, he also once again joint enrolled at the GSU Andrew Young School of Policy Studies where he received a Masters in Public Administration. Commissioner Dutton is married to his lovely wife, Kristen, and they both have their own firms, hers a CPA tax firm and he a law firm, here in downtown Griffin. Together they have two wonderful children, Elizabeth and Ty. Commissioner Dutton actively volunteers in the Spalding County area. He serves as a scout master with troop 14 and as a member of many civic and fraternal organizations such as the Kiwanis Club of Griffin, the Ringgold Masonic Lodge, the Griffin York Rite, the Griffin Historical Society, and the Griffin Knights Templar Commandary. Commissioner Dutton is also a leader in the Spalding County Bar Association and serves, along with his mother, as the two coaches of the award winning Spalding County Model United Nations team. Commissioner Dutton also serves as a boy’s youth minister at his church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Joseph M. “Joe” Reheiser, Brigadier General, USAF (ret)

Joe Reheiser was born in Germany and spent most of his childhood in Europe. He attended the U.S. Air Force Academy, and received his commission after graduating in 1978 with a BS in Engineering Mechanics.  During his 31 year Air Force career Gen Reheiser held key staff positions in the National Guard Bureau, Headquarters Air Mobility Command, Headquarters U.S. Air Forces in Europe and the Joint Staff.  General Reheiser commanded at the squadron, group, wing, and numbered Air Force/Center level.  While commanding the 314th Airlift Wing at Little Rock AFB, AR, it was recognized as the Air Force’s best C-130 wing .  In his final assignment, Gen Reheiser commanded the Air Force Security Assistance Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, charged with promoting security assistance, and national security objectives by building relationships with U.S. international partners.  General Reheiser is a command pilot with more than 4,800 hours in more than 15 different aircraft.

After retiring from the Air Force Joe provided independent consulting services to Elbit Systems America, Eli-Lilly Corp, and Dynamic Research Corp.  He was ultimately recruited, and hired as the Vice President, Air Force Programs for Alenia-Aermacchi, Italy’s premier airplane and training systems manufacturer.  While with Alenia-Aermacchi Joe also served on the Gander International Airport Board of Directors.  Since retiring from Alenia-Aermacchi in 2015 Joe has been a volunteer mentor for the Ron Alexander Youth Aviation Program (RAYAP) at Peach State Aerodrome in Williamson. GA.  In 2017 he joined the board of directors for both the RAYAP, and the Peach State Airpark HOA.  In 2021 Joe became the Director of the RAYAP, a position he continues to hold today.  Joe is an avid general aviation pilot and currently owns and flies a 1948 Stinson 108-3.  He and his wife Donna have lived in Griffin/Spalding county since 2009.

Commissioner Ryan Bowlden (Spalding County)

Commission Ryan Bowlden is an active member of the Griffin-Spalding County Airport Authority and a sitting member of the Spalding County Board of Commissioners representing District 4. Raised in Spalding County, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout as a member of Sunnyside’s Troop 8 and graduated in 1999 from Griffin-High School. From there he attended Gordon College and then on to the University of West Georgia.

Commissioner Bowlden’s community service continued, when in 2009 he joined the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office, graduating at the top of his class and receiving the Session 3 Class Flag. He served in various departments throughout the Sheriff’s Office and in 2017 started his current career with the Hampton Police Department. Outside of law enforcement, Commissioner Bowlden is involved with several non-profit organizations, including “Mowing with a Meaning” and “I am a Character”. These organizations, founded by Robert (Smokey) Page, have allowed him to contribute to the community by providing youth guidance & mentorship while also providing volunteer lawn maintenance needs to those families and loved ones battling cancer.

Spalding County has always been home to Ryan and his family, he wants nothing more than to see this community safe and prosperous. His goal is to ensure the citizens are more informed and more involved with the decisions that are being made for the betterment of our community.

Mr. Tim Brown

Thomas D “Tim” Brown, was born in Miami Florida and lived there until he attended Florida State University (1971-1975), where he graduated with both an accounting degree and a commission as an officer into the U.S. Air Force. After flying the C-7 Caribou in Montgomery, AL. for two years and then being hired with Delta Airlines he moved to Boston to start his flying career.

Tim married a Delta F/A in 1982 and has 2 daughters, and a grandson “Thomas” who is now three years old. Tim moved to Griffin, Georgia. in 1987 and had lived at Brookbridge Aerodrome for twenty-four years until moving into the City after losing his wife to cancer in 2005.

Tim began his flying at age seventeen. He went through his Air Force flight training in Lubbock Texas having already earned his commercial pilot’s license. He was hired on with Delta Airlines in April 1979 and started flying Aerobatics in 1982. His first aircraft was a Decathlon, then he moved on to a single seat Pitts Special. In 2003, after five years working on, he finished building his Pitts Model 12. Tim retired from the airline in 2018 and went on to work for Ron Alexander’s Youth Aviation Program at Peach State Aerodrome in Williamson, GA. where he continues his mentorship to this date. He married Becki Caldwell in 2011 and continues to reside in Griffin. He is currently active with the Kiwanis Club and occasionally helps his wife antique shop.
